How it Works

Snap the Coil Cord onto the connection tab of the Earthing® Chair Mat. Place the Chair Mat on your seat or couch with the blue side facing down. Plug the Earthing Plug into the grounded wall socket. Push the other end of the Coil Cord firmly into the Earthing Plug.

Clothing: For optimal effectiveness, direct contact or thin layers of natural material, such as cotton, work best. 

We would recommend first time Earthing product users to add a Socket Tester to your order. Checking the socket is such an important step in the whole Earthing experience. If the sockets are not working properly the product will not work.

In the event that the wall sockets are not Grounded you can purchase a Ground Rod or a Ground Rod with Extension Lead Kit.

Instructions
 

DO's:
Wipe down the mat using a non-corrosive cleaner like soap and water on a damp sponge and air dry.

DONT'S:
Do not use chlorine or bleach.
Do not apply lotion, creams, or body oil to your skin before touching the mat. These can oxidize and damage conductivity.

Why is it important to be grounded?
 

The earth’s surface has a virtually limitless supply of mobile electrons that gives the ground we walk on (as well as lakes and oceans) a natural negative electric charge. When you touch your body to the ground, it dissipates static electricity and extraneous environmental electrical charges that are on you. At the same time, you receive a charge of energy in the form of free electrons and your body synchronizes with the natural frequencies of the earth.

How quickly will Grounding work for me?
 

There is an instant and natural shift in your body when you become grounded. We have measured the changes in the laboratory and they clearly indicate that the body is functioning better. People with pain often feel relief in varying degrees − from a little to a lot, and to even disappearance of the pain − just by planting their bare feet on the ground outside for a half hour or forty minutes.  Sleeping grounded through the night produces many beneficial results, such as better and deeper sleep, more energy during the day, and less pain. Again, the degree of benefits vary from slight to dramatic, from immediate to gradual.

How long should I ground - can I ground too much?
 

Generally, the longer you continue to ground yourself, the more benefits and vitality you can expect to see. Some people with compromised health will find that sleeping grounded the hole night gives them strange sensations such as itching, tingling, rashes, etc. These are symptoms of detoxification and to mitigate these effects, it is usually best to go slow and start grounding for short periods of time, 30 minutes for example. Then you can slowly increase the duration until your body tolerates a whole night of sleeping grounded.

when using grounding products is skin contact best?
 

Earthing products may reduce inflammation and pain. They may do so whether they are applied directly on the site of pain or to another part of the body. The fastest way, in our experience, is with the use of Earthing patches, which can be applied on or adjacent to sites of pain, or placed on the palms or soles of the feet. 

Can I combine grounding with medication?
 

We recommend you first have a conversation with your doctor.  Earthing makes the physiology function more efficiently, and this improvement has the potential to affect medication dosages.  For instance, we know that Earthing has a blood thinning effect, may improve thyroid function, blood sugar, and blood pressure, and thus medication dosages may need to be closely monitored and possibly adjusted.  However, such interactions have not been measured in studies.  For that reason, we strongly advise informing your doctor and following his or her guidance.

Ideal starter product, not just for chairs

This was the first product I purchased. Whenever I’m sitting on the sofa (working on my laptop or watching tv), my bare feet are on this. I got a bit nerdy and used a volt meter to test how many volts I had been subjecting my body to with my phone/ipad/laptop charging from the socket next to me and how much difference the mat made. It dropped from over 4 to around 0.003. I’ve moved the chargers across the room and now I know the reading is always zero as soon as I touch the mat. It’s been quite an eye-opener experimenting with the volt meter. The biggest mistake I had been making was using an electric blanket and leaving it plugged in and switched on at the socket (to an extension lead because the socket is behind the bed). With the socket switched on at the wall but the blanket switched off the reading was still 14, with the blanket turned on (and I have slept with it on many times because it’s the type you can leave on overnight), the voltage was 30! No wonder my rheumatoid arthritis has been so bad. I now have a bed mat as well so I can be grounded as much as possible. My rheumatoid inflammatiom (crp) has dropped from over 30 to less than 1. It’s hard to know how much difference the mat has made because I also started an immunosuppressant drug that should’ve kicked in around the same time that I started earthing but I’ve just come back from a week’s holiday and my shoulders started hurting again in the night after a few days with no earthing. I can’t stop and start the drug so I guess I’ll have to stop earthing for a month and see what effect it has on my crp levels - if they rise significantly I will stop taking the toxic drug and rely on earthing!
